| Project Description: |
| To provide data on distribution and migration patterns, habitat needs and habitat use patterns, health and immune function, responses to boats, vessel traffic patterns and boater compliance with regulations designed to protect manatees. Emphasis this year is on the thermal biology of manatees and how it affects the potential loss of warm water refuges such as power plants and on the sensory biology of manatees and how it relates to habitat selection. Work is done in collaboration with FMRI and the Bureau of Protected Species Management. |
