| Project Description: |
| The central purpose of the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) is to promote economic growth and prosperity of the member countries by lowering barriers to trade and investment within the Western Hemisphere through the secretariat. Oversight of the negotiating process is the responsibility of the Ministers of Trade, who are required to meet at least every 18 months preceded by Americas Business Forum - (ABF), while the Vice Ministers of Trade manage the negotiations, the ABF would bring over 3,000 business people and journalist to South Florida. As a result that no dedicated host for the permanent secretariat has been selected, it is vital for the state to pursuit such efforts. This would result in enhancing the state international position, job creation and business opportunities. |
