Project Description: |
A centralized juvenile processing center and information system to improve the capability of the juvenile justice system to identify and respond appropriately to the treatment and service needs of juveniles in Pasco County. In turn, this would maximize open communication among agencies who are working on behalf of youth and families, resulting in increased access to substance abuse and mental health treatment, education, mentoring programs, parent education and skills training, as well as other alternative and supportive community services. |

Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
PROGRAM OUTPUTS
1. 100% of youth screened by provider shall receive a substance abuse, mental health and suicide risk screening.
2. 100% of youth screened and eligible for detention shall have a state's attorney recommendation prepared to endorse subsequent action.
3. 100% of youth not eligible for detention shall be referred to a department intake staff for a comprehensive assessment.
4. 100% of youth in which results of the MAYSI indicate a need for an in-depth assessment will be referred for an in-depth assessment.
5. 100% of arrested youth shall be processed and accepted from law enforcement within 5 minutes of delivery to the JAC's booking/intake unit.
EVALUATION MEASURES
1. 100% of all youths screened by the provider shall be entered into the JJIS Data system.
2. 100% of youth screened and detention eligible shall have a court packet prepared with a completed detention risk assessment, a JJIS face sheet, MAYSI form and State Attorney Recommendation.
3. 100% of youth screened by the provider and determined eligible for an indepth assessment shall be referred for one.
4. 95% of all youth shall be released from the screening unit within 5 hours of delivery from the law enforcement officer. |
