Project Description: |
This funding would continue the Statewide Network for Community Oral Health created by the UF College of Dentistry in 1997. This program provides oral health services to low-income/low-access residents of Florida with dental clinics in Alachua, Dade, Duval, and Pinellas counties. This program has treated more than 11,400 children from families with incomes at or below 200% of the poverty level and nearly half of the children are Medicaid recipients. By providing improved access to dental care, adults have fewer number of days missed at work, and children miss less school because of improved health. |
