Project Description:
CMS was identified as a provider service network in statute (SB 2-B) in the December 2005 special session on Medicaid Reform. CMS will require one-time start-up funding to position itself to function as a managed care provider.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
: Families who select Children's Medical Services to be the managed care provider for their Children will be able to have confidence in the quality of care their child receives, as well as confidence that the appropriate business model will allow proper management of the health care finance. CMS has been the reliable facilitator of highest quality health care for children in Florida with chronic illness. The State has recognized this statutorily, and now must assist with one-time capital infusion to allow them to function in a capitated environment.
