Project Description: |
CMS currently has a Primary Care Network of clinics in place thoughout Floida with the exception of 5 areas. As Medicaid Reform continues to expand, CMS must be in position to provide a medical home for all chronically ill children. Even with managed care options, CMS must have infrastructure to provide clinical services for children under their statutory responsibility (chapter 391). |

Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
Children in need of well-child care( and their siblings), and those with congenital or acquired chronic diseases will be properly diagnosed by primary care pediatricians and specialized pediatric physicians and will be treated as appropriate. The providers will address medical issues to correct, cure, or improve quality of life for these children. Additionally, the next generation of specialists will trained in the disciplines related to working with well children and children with chronic illness. |
