| Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
| Reduction in trauma mortality level for those in the 10-county, Service Area 3. The Comprehensive Assessment of the Florida Trauma System found that five of the top six counties with the highest mortality rates reside in Service Area 3, which currently does not have a trauma center. This center would provide trauma services for the estimated 455,000 living in the 10-county area, as well as for visitors traveling through the area. The nearest trauma center, for most in this population, is at least a two-hour drive. |
