Project Description:
This project is the 2nd phase of the Riveroaks/Edgewood Stormwater Project. Construct stromwater infrastructure in Edgewood neighborhoods in the southwest quadrant of Fort Lauderdale. THis will eliminate the malfunction of plumbing in the households and the discharge of fecal matter from septic tanks due to drainfield malfunctions. It will also minimize mosquito breeding grounds caused by area wide flooding and allow the City to install controls for surface water quality in the New River. The proposed project will include conveyance of swales, exfiltration trenches, retention ponds, and the necessary purchase of land for this infrastructure.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
The infrastructure will eliminate the malfunction of plumbing in households and the discharge of fecal matter from septic tanks due to drainage field malfunction. It will also minimize mosquito breeding grounds caused by area wide flooding. It will also allow the City to direct the stromwater to designate retention areas where best management practices will allow the installation of control to address the surface water quality in the New River. Loadings will be reduced by the controls of surface discharge to the water bodies by controlling sheet flow of retention ponds with overflow discharge only through approved water quality controls.
