| The Middle St. Johns River Basin Initiative is an ongoing project to restore and enhance the middle St. Johns River and its tributaries. This basin is in an area where population and water use are expected to grow. Funding through this initiative will help to restore and enhance this portion of the river and its lakes and tributaries. Examples of subprojects that could be funded through this request follow. This list is in alphabetical order and is not a complete listing.

| Describe how it will reduce loadings, identify anticipated load reductions for total suspended solids, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and other contaminants, and specify the practices that will be used to reduce loadings: |
| Regional stormwater treatment systems will be implemented in the watersheds of the Middle St. Johns River Basin to reduce the discharge of nutrients, suspended solids, and heavy metals into the waters of the state. Wet detention methodology will be implemented where the limited availability of land does not eliminate this option. Within areas of heavy urbanization, consideration will be given to all methods of stormwater treatment including alternative treatment methods to reduce the pollutant loads to the receiving water bodies, particularly where space is limited due to unavailable or exceptionally high-cost land. Actual reductions of pollutants to the lakes and streams will depend upon the level of funding received, particularly in the urbanized areas where land availability is limited and costs are high. |
