Project Description:
Primrose Center, Inc. is seeking to make capital improvements for extensive renovations and updating of buildings and surrounding grounds of our main campus facilities. Primrose Center began operating at its current location in 1960, after operating out of an old Air Force barracks since its inception in 1952. Primrose was originally constructed as a school for children with developmental disabilities prior to educational services being provided through the public school system. Over the years Primrose has evolved into one of Central Florida's largest non-profit organizations providing services to adults with developmental disabilities. Today services include Adult Day Training, Supported Employment, Supported Living, Residential Habilitation, Transportation, Skilled Nursing, and Respite Services. As a result of the ever changing needs of our programs and the age of our physical facilities, renovations and upgrades are desperately needed in order to ensure fire safety and A.D.A. compliance, energy efficiency, a safe and healthy environment and keep pace with the necessary technologies for the future success of Primrose Center, Inc. Utilization of technological advancements available for people with disabilities is essential to the future of our programs and the individuals needing our services. As a result of the age of our buildings, significant updating of electrical wiring for the buildings would be vital to providing computer training that includes the use of any necessary assistive devices an individual may require. Our main campus facilities consist of eight separate buildings. Improvements that are necessary include electrical upgrades and rewiring of buildings, 26,000 square foot of re-roofing, 24,000 square foot of re-flooring, paving and lining of parking and driveway areas, refurbish walkways, replacement of aged exterior doors and windows, renovating bathrooms, repair/replace fencing, exterior and interior painting and heating/air conditioning unit replacement and upgrades.
