As the regional transit authority,CFRTA has a public responsibility to provide safe, dependable and cost effective public transportation throughout Central Florida. We are the primary means of transportation for Central Florida's hospitality and tourism workforce. Providing these workers with a safe and clean environment while waiting for public transportation is an important element of mass transit.

Project Description:
CFRTA is the primary means of transportation for the regions hospitality and tourist workforce, providing over 80 thousand trips per day. Currently, there are 5000 bus stops of which only 300 have any type of safe cover to protect passengers from the Florida elements. This project will result in the purchase and installation of up to 120 new shelters along the busiest routes within the 2500 square mile service area.

This level of funding could provide up to 120 additional shelters, a noticeable supplement to the 300 shelters currently in existence within the 2500 sq mile service area.
