Project Description: |
Two mile improvement of County Road 466. This improvement will provide an alternative parallel (east-west) corridor to CR 466A in both Lake and Sumter Counties. The two extra lanes will provide needed additional capacity to relieve traffic congestion as well as provide interconnection to new I-75 interchange.US 27/441. Lake County is one of the fastest growing counties in the State of Florida. The increase in retiree population growth and general population growth of the county has resulted in more demand for transportation capacities. The construction of several major developments is increasing in lake County, especially the retirement community of The Villages. The Villages is creating a concentration of people in the three counties boundaries of Lake, Sumter, and Marion, which has created a greater need for transportation facilities. The 2004 AADT on CR4;66 is 10,413. |
