Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
The Lake County Health Depatment(LCHD) is facing a challenge in responding to the explosive growth in Lake County. The population in Lake County has increased the need to provide adequate health and other related services to the segment of the population that must depend on the LCHD for those essential programs. The growth has incresed staffing levels at the LCHD and created the need for add. facility space. The LCBCC has responded by leasing add.space, but the needs have exceeded the ability of the private sector to effectively and efficiently meet these space requirements. In addition to the lack of adequate space, water intrusion problems in the facilities the LCHD/LCBCC have leased as well as similiar problems at county owned faclities the LCHD has discontinued all non-critical health services, and to meet the current and future vital health services of the citizens of LC, it is essential to consolidate several of the clinical and administrative locations into an updated 40,000 SF facility. This new facility would also have the potential to provide ancillary types of services to the citizens of LC. The LCBCC has identified five (5) acres of county owned property that is idealy located in the central part of Lake County to construct this facility. |
