Project Description: |
Rio Grande Charter School of Excellence will provide elementary education to 160 students in grades Kindergarden through the fifth grades for students who live throughout Orange County. The majority of our students come from apartment complexes concentrated in the Holden Heights community of Orange County. Rio Grande Charter School will provide educational choice to parents and small classes to their children who are in need of more individualized instruction to overcome academic deficiencies. This funding will provide additional resources to assist students who cannot read on grade level. These children need additional tutorial aides such as computers, handled technology devices and instructional support. Ninety - five percent of the students who enroll at Rio Grande Charter School are recipients of "Free and Reduced" lunch as a result of the socio economic status of their parents who are either unemployed or underemployed. |
