| Project Description: |
| The Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) currently funds 60 residential beds used for the treatment of 60 at risk teenage boys from all over the state of Florida. These beds run at a 95% utilization rate year-round and boast a 68.25% success rate or less than 32% of all adolescents would not remain crime-free for a minimum of one year after leaving the program. The Grove would like to improve further on this recidivism rate by teaching these boys hands-on trades such as wood-working and lawn care maintenance to further ensure a successful transition back to their communities where they will become productive, self-sufficient, and employable citizens. |
