Senator Ana Maria Rodriguez Day Declared by Miami-Dade County in Proclamation from A Safe Haven for Newborns

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla.- On Saturday, October 22nd, 2022, “A Safe Haven for Newborns” proclaimed Senator Ana Maria Rodriguez Day in Miami-Dade County. Per the request of the organizations founder, Nick Silverio, “A Safe Haven for Newborns” recognized Senator Rodriguez for her exemplary leadership and commitment to the citizens of District 39.

A Safe Haven for Newborns held their 10th annual “A Wonderland in Safe Haven” Gala at the Hilton Miami Downtown in Biscayne Boulevard. During the event, Nick Silverio had the honor of presenting the proclamation to Senator Rodriguez. Mr. Silverio described the Senator as a ‘truly principled and independent voice, with a servant’s heart’.

Senator Rodriguez sponsored legislation to bring forward A Safe Haven for Newborns' specialty license plate to the state of Florida. The Annual Use fees from the sales of the specialty license plates shall be distributed to the Gloria M. Silverio Foundation. The Foundation's mission sets to prevent infant abandonment through awareness, education, and direct assistance.

A Safe Haven for Newborns prides itself on saving the precious lives of newborns who’ve suffered from infant abuse and abandonment. The organization also assists pregnant girls and women in crisis. The Gloria M. Silverio Foundation, a non-profit, established the program in 2001. Through community outreach, educational programs, and donations, A Safe Haven for Newborns have helped hundreds of babies and over 5,000 women in their time of need.
