GENERAL BILL by Banking and Insurance ; Geller
Health Maintenance Organizations; clarifies applicability of Fla. Insurance Code to HMOs; provides conditions under which DOI may order HMO to cancel contract; provides for payment by HMO of fees to outside examiners appointed by DOI; provides for application of federal solvency requirements to provider-sponsored organizations; prohibits solicitation or acceptance of contracts by insolvent or impaired HMOs; provides criminal penalty, etc. Amends Ch. 641; creates 641.226,.39,.2011.
