GENERAL BILL by General Government Appropriations ; Higher Education Appropriations ; Regulated Industries ; Wise ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Lynn ; Aronberg

Cosmetology [EPCC]; Redefines "cosmetology" to include specified services and exclude artificial nails and use of certain skin treatments. Authorizes licensure for cosmetologists, hair stylists, estheticians, and nail technicians. Specifies that only the Board of Cosmetology may review, evaluate, and approve required course and text. Requires the board to adopt rules relating to protection of health of clients, nail technicians, and estheticians, etc. APPROPRIATION: $117,163.

Effective Date: 07/01/2008 except as otherwise provided
