Homestead Exemptions For Seniors; Authorizing the board of county commissioners of any county or the governing authority of any municipality to adopt an ordinance granting an additional homestead tax exemption up to the assessed value of the property to an owner who has maintained permanent residency on the property for a specified duration, who has attained age 65, and whose household income does not exceed a specified amount; providing for annual cost-of-living adjustments of the household-income limitation relating to such additional homestead exemption, etc.

Effective Date: upon the approval of Senate Joint Resolution 1740, or a similar joint resolution having substantially the same specific intent and purpose, at the general election to be held in November 2012 or at an earlier special election specifically authorized by law for that purpose
