SB 2106: Tipped Employees

GENERAL BILL by Commerce and Tourism

Tipped Employees; Authorizing an employer to elect to guarantee that all tipped employees receive a wage, including tips, equal to a minimum percentage of the state minimum wage; requiring that the employer make the election in writing and prominently display it in the employer’s premises; providing that the employer is subject to civil actions and fines if the employer fails to pay a tipped employee the wage guaranteed under the act or engages in any discriminatory or retaliatory action; providing that the act does not affect the employer’s obligation to comply with the federal Fair Labor Standards Act, etc.
