CS/HB 1181: Driver Licenses

GENERAL BILL by Transportation and Highway Safety Subcommittee ; Young ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Perry

Driver Licenses; Revises notification requirements with respect to suspension of driver license of child support obligor; requires delinquent child support obligors to provide certain documentation to prevent suspension of driver license; reduces mandatory period of revocation or suspension of, or delay in eligibility for, driver license for persons convicted of certain drug offenses; requires court to make determination as to whether restricted license would be appropriate; requires DHSMV to reinstate driving privilege & allow registration of motor vehicle of child support obligor upon receipt of affidavit containing specified information; authorizes court to direct DHSMV to issue restricted driver license to certain persons; deletes provision requiring suspension of driver license of certain persons; provides that suspension of driver license of person being prosecuted for passing worthless check is discretionary.
