Legislative authority; administration of chapter.
1551.123 Legislative authority; administration of chapter.--The Legislature finds and declares that it has exclusive authority over the conduct of all wagering occurring at a slot machine facility in this state. As provided by law, only the Division of Pari-mutuel Wagering and other authorized state agencies shall administer this chapter and regulate the slot machine gaming industry, including operation of slot machine facilities, games, slot machines, and facilities-based computer systems authorized in this chapter and the rules adopted by the division.

1Note.--Section 7, ch. 2005-362, provides that "[t]he Department of Business and Professional Regulation may expend the unreserved cash balance in the Pari-mutuel Wagering Trust Fund received from non-slot revenue sources to implement slot machine regulation and investigations during fiscal year 2005-2006. Beginning as soon as practical, but no later than fiscal year 2006-2007, the department shall initiate repayment of such funds with slot machine license revenue sources until the full amount is reimbursed. The department shall submit a repayment plan for approval to the Executive Office of the Governor and the chair and vice chair of the Legislative Budget Commission in accordance with the provisions of s. 216.177, Florida Statutes. The repaid funds shall be subject to the requirements of s. 550.135(2), Florida Statutes."
