CS/HB 1803: Workers' Compensation

GENERAL BILL by Council for Competitive Commerce ; Insurance ; Waters ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Melvin ; Brown ; Berfield ; Kallinger ; McGriff ; Clarke ; Simmons ; Sobel ; Ross ; Negron ; Fields ; Wiles ; Murman

Workers' Compensation; requires judge of compensation claims to consider interests of worker & worker's family when approving settlements of workers' compensation claims; requires appropriate recovery of any child support arrearage from such settlements; excludes certain sports officials from definition of "employee"; excludes certain work done by state prisoners & county inmates from definition of "employment", etc. Amends FS.

Effective Date: 10/01/2001 except as otherwise provided
