CS/SB 1824: Department of Health

GENERAL BILL by Health Regulation ; Garcia ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Evers

Department of Health; Eliminating the Florida Drug, Device, and Cosmetic Trust Fund and the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Trust Fund as trust funds under the department; requiring the Department of Health to be responsible for the state public health system; permitting the department to apply for and become a National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program accreditation body; providing for any permit issued and approved by the Department of Health for the installation, modification, or repair of an onsite sewage treatment and disposal system to transfer with the title of the property; requiring the department, rather than the Agency for Health Care Administration, to publish a summary of the Florida Patient’s Bill of Rights and Responsibilities on its Internet website; deleting legislative findings relating to the “Reducing Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities: Closing the Gap Act”, etc.

Effective Date: except as otherwise expressly provided in this act, this act shall take effect upon becoming a law
