CS/CS/SB 1816: Protection of Vulnerable Persons
GENERAL BILL by Budget Subcommittee on Criminal and Civil Justice Appropriations ; Criminal Justice ; Benacquisto ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Sachs
Protection of Vulnerable Persons; Requiring the Department of Children and Family Services to provide for web-chat and update other web-based forms for reporting child abuse, abandonment, or neglect; increasing criminal penalties for knowingly and willfully failing to report known or suspected child abuse, abandonment, or neglect, or knowingly and willfully preventing another person from doing so; requiring the department to develop and implement a program of social services and rehabilitative services for the parent or legal custodian of a child seeking assistance; providing for denial of relocation payment for a domestic violence claim if the Department of Legal Affairs has previously paid a sexual battery relocation claim to the same victim for the same incident; providing a continuing education requirement for certain teachers on identifying and reporting child abuse and neglect, etc. APPROPRIATION: $1,500,000
